Open to the public on Tuesdays through Saturday 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Then, Sundays at 1 to 4 p.m., unless rented for special events. The admission is $3.00 per adult, and children 12 and under are free. This house can be rented for weddings or receptions, etc. It was built around 1835 by Alfred Battle, originally of north Carolina. The Friedman's bought it in 1875 (and remianed in the family until 1965 when it was willed to the city of Tuscaloosa.). It is a classic example of beautiful gentile Tuscaloosa in the late 19th century. One of many that should be toured by all. A lot of the inside isn't 19th century, but still, early 20th, added by the Friendman's. There is also a collection of renaissance revival furniture inside. A beautiful house. PROS: historical, beautiful CONS: many features of the house aren't original, although they are early 20th c
